In this week’s episode, we will do things a little different. I’ll answer the top five questions I get from listeners about being an expert witness.

People have a cursory understanding of what being an expert witness is all about because of what they watch on TV or movies. An expert witness is not an eye-witness.

An expert witness is a specialist in a given technical subject that the average person does not know at the same level the expert knows. The expert gives his opinion based on his knowledge, education and years of experience.

As an expert witness, you give your opinion based on the facts of the case. You help to explain something that’s technical or that is not common knowledge to the jury. Your role is taking something complicated or complex & explaining it in plain English for the jury to understand so that they can make a decision on the case at hand.

Tune in and hear the rest yourself.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll learn:

  • (02:00) What is an expert witness
  • (04:40) Expert witness fees
  • (06:50) Onboarding an expert
  • (08:25) The role of an expert witness
  • (10:05) How to become an expert witness
